Waves of wood and metal

Made by hand, this wall art was created from black locust wood slices. Fitting the unique contours of each piece and filling some of the gaps with metal to create a contrast between both materials. In my instagram (@marmotaworks) you will find a video showing the production process of this piece.

The black locust has a unique characteristic: when exposed to ultraviolet light, a beautiful phenomenon called fluorescence occurs. This wood is one of the few that possesses this quality.
