A genuine slice of approximately 6,000-year-old bog oak, transformed into a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art.
This oak spent thousands of years buried underground in wet, low-oxygen conditions. Over time, minerals in the surrounding water reacted with the natural tannins in the wood, slowly changing its original color to the deep black you see today.
The wood used for these pieces has been independently radiocarbon dated to confirm its age. It comes from the same ancient oak featured in my 6,000-year-old wood table video.
Each piece is handmade in my workshop and finished with wood oil. The natural shape, cracks and growth rings remain visible, making every piece completely unique.
This is not a reproduction or wood made to look old. It is a real piece of an oak tree that was alive approximately 6,000 years ago.
